Best Song Request App for DJs in 2026: 10 Apps Compared
We make Request App, so we have a side. That is why every number about a competitor below comes from their own website, checked on 5 October 2026 and linked — and why we show you the one place a rival beats us.
Quick answer
If you want to get paid for song requests, Request App pays DJs the largest share of every request. You keep 90% of the price you set from your first gig, rising to 95% as you earn, with no monthly subscription.
Rekwest is the closest alternative. It has apps on every platform and a fee that already includes card costs.
If you only want free requests with no money involved, RequestBox and BeatTribe are simpler.

What a DJ keeps from a $20 request
Every app quotes a percentage. What matters is the money that lands in your bank.
- Request App: you set $20. The fan pays $21.00 at checkout, which covers the card fee. You keep $18.00 at the starting 10% fee, and $19.00 once you reach 5%.
- Rekwest: the fan pays $20. Rekwest keeps 10% plus €0.30, card costs included. You keep about $17.70.
- DJ Request: 15% of a paid request is $3, so you keep $17 before card fees.
- RequestSongs (free plan): 17% plus 2.9% plus $0.30. You keep $15.72.
Our fee only ever goes down. It drops a step at $500, $1,000, $2,500, $10,000 and $25,000 of lifetime earnings, and the 5% floor is yours for good.
The one place a rival wins. With Request App the fan pays the card fee on top. Rekwest takes its card fee out of its own 10%. So if a fan spends exactly $20 in total, a brand-new Rekwest DJ keeps about 60 cents more than a brand-new Request App DJ. We draw level once you have earned $2,500 with us, and pull ahead from $10,000.
Two other trade-offs worth knowing. DJ Request takes nothing on tips beyond card fees, which is the best tip deal on this list. Apps that send tips straight to your own Venmo or PayPal take no cut at all, but nothing is held until you play the song, and the fan needs that app.
Each app in brief
- Request App — best for DJs who want to earn the most from paid requests. You can accept, decline or counter the price of a request, and the fan's card is only charged when you play the song.
- Rekwest — the best all-rounder if you want fans to pay exactly the posted price. Apps on iOS, Android and Mac, a free plan, and Pro at $8.99 a month.
- DJ Request — best if most of your money comes from tips, since it takes 0% on them. Web only; paid requests cost you 15%.
- DJFY — best if you want guests charged only when you play within 30 minutes. The fee runs 10–20% and plan prices aren't published.
- RequestSongs — best if you never want guests to download anything; it runs entirely in the browser. The free plan costs 17% plus card fees.
- Lime DJ — best as a wider DJ business toolkit, with music bingo and client portals, from $14 a month. Refunds for unplayed requests are manual.
- RequestNow — best if your guests prefer texting a request. Tips go to your own Venmo, Cash App or PayPal, with card tips on the $30 plan.
- NoSongRequests — best for simple tipping to your own Cash App or Venmo, with iPhone and Android apps. Tipping is off on the free version.
- BeatTribe — best for weddings where you don't want money involved. PRO is 6.90 a month; the free tier caps you at 50 requests per event.
- RequestBox — the best free option for requests and crowd voting, on iPhone and Android, with no payments at all.
Where Request App wins, and where it doesn't
Where we win
- The largest share of the price you set, at every fee level.
- The only fee on this list that falls as you earn, down to 5% for good.
- Counter offers. A fan offers $10; you can answer $15. None of the other nine list this on their sites.
- No subscription.
- DJs are approved by our team before they can take a fan's money.
- The fan is charged only when you mark the song played — not when you accept it. DJ Request charges on accept; DJFY, like us, charges on play.
Where we don't
- Fans pay the card fee on top, so a $20 request costs them $21.
- No Android app yet; it is on the way. Fans never need an app — they request from a QR code in their phone's browser.
- If you want free requests with no money involved, a free tool like RequestBox is simpler.
